Cecily Hines, President of the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, has a professional career spanning over 20 years serving as legal advisor for public and private institutions. In addition, she has been active as a community volunteer throughout her life, including serving on the boards of various arts organizations, the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, and the Minnesota Women’s Campaign Fund.
Ms. Hines holds a J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law (Durham, NC); a Master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University (NY) and a bachelor’s degree from Smith College (Northampton, MA).
In her spare time she enjoys walking and biking in the parks, playing croquet and tennis, and spending time with good friends.
Sheila Moar, Marketing and Projects Manager, has worked for corporate marketing companies, advertising agencies, and non-profit companies during her 25 year professional career. In addition to her professional life, she has actively volunteered in the Twin Cities community, and currently is a board member of the Weisman Art Museum, a former board member of the Northern Clay Center, and a volunteer at the Guthrie Theatre and the Walker Art Center.
Ms. Moar graduated with a BA from Barnard College of Columbia University, and an MBA in marketing from Columbia University, in New York City.
As a transplant to the Twin Cities from New York City many years ago, she continues to be impressed by the beautiful Minneapolis parks system which is such a valuable resource to the Twin Cities residents. She and her family enjoy many outdoor sports, including tennis, golf, biking and skiing. On a personal level, she is passionate about the arts, including dance, theatre, ceramics, and fine arts.
Lynn Schoenstedt, Office Manager and Director of the Tributes Program, comes to the Foundation with a background as a professional photographer and small business owner.
Ms. Schoenstedt graduated with a BA from the University of Minnesota in International Relations.
She's an enthusiastic mountain biker, loves to meander through the parks and frequents the dog parks with her pups Odin and Loki. She believes that parks serve as a splendid backyard for all, with beautiful gardens, quiet retreats and much needed open space in a congested city. She feels great satisfaction knowing that her work at the Minneapolis Parks Foundation serves people today and helps keep the parks strong for the future.
