Walk to your closest park and close your eyes … what do you hear? The Minneapolis Park System comprises 6,809 aces of parkland and water, located in our large metropolis. It is never truly quiet. Each park buzzes with a unique soundscape, no matter how big or small. You might hear the laughter of children having fun on the swing-set, a cackling murder of crows nearby, or the rhythmic lap and flow of water.

This month we visited three parks and captured their sounds. Grab some headphones and listen to the vibrant and diverse sounds of Minneapolis parks. The next time you’re in a park, get in tune with all your senses and enjoy a whole new experience!
