Summer Community Engagement with Juxtaposition Arts

For three consecutive summer the Minneapolis Parks Foundation partnered with Juxtaposition Arts’ Environmental Design Studio, to reimagine the Upper Mississippi Riverfront. Apprentices from the studio led multiple community-based engagements for two RiverFirst projects, Great Northern Greenway River Link along 26th Avenue North and the Upper Harbor Terminal. North Minneapolis youth from Project Sweetie Pie, Urban Strategies, and Asian Media Access had the opportunity to kayak and join Slow Roll, a community bike ride to the sites. Watch the apprentices speak about their 2017 summer experiences below, and stay tuned for a new video about our 2018 partnership.
