Our friends at the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board are recognizing Earth Day with its annual Earth Day Clean-Up event throughout Minneapolis Parks. Nearly 40 sites are slated for sprucing up, including some of the region’s most popular destinations, like the Chain of Lakes, Wirth Park and the Central Riverfront Regional Park.
If you’re one of this year’s volunteers, you’ll join a group of more than 12,000 dedicated residents who’ve removed more than 75,000 lbs. of garbage from Minneapolis parks since 2008. (Just don’t do like I did two years ago and lose your keys in the process …. does that count as littering?!)
No need to sign up, just show up at one of the collections spots, where MPRB volunteers and staff are happy to help you get started. Visit MPRB’s website or download the official Earth Day Flyer for more info.
