Researchers say parks relieve stress

Can simply walking through a park help relieve stress? Some Scottish researchers think so.

Recent findings by a Scottish company testing portable EEG (electroencephalogram) machines showed that walking through a park for even a short period of time calmed the brainwaves of study participants.

Results of this kind speak to the relationship between people and parks and solidifies the importance of urban green space in 21st Century Parks and for Minneapolis residents, this is great news. With the city’s abundance of parks, stress relief can be found just a few blocks away from home.
