In September, Minneapolis Parks Foundation staff member Paul Bauknight concluded his time with the Parks Foundation and his role as Project Implementation Director to establish a new nonprofit: The Center for Transformative Urban Design. We are excited by his new venture and look forward to working together in the future.
With Paul’s transition comes opportunity. This week we posted an opening for the Director of Projects which will help us advance our mission and extend the impact of our work in Minneapolis. We are seeking a rising leader with experience in creating parks and public spaces and advancing our guiding themes through park design and programming. Please consider applying or sharing this opportunity widely with your networks.
We also want to acknowledge Paul Bauknight’s impact with the Parks Foundation, first as a Board member and then as the Project Implementation Director which came at a critical time, helping guide the final stages of the Water Works project, elevating the River Overlook at 26th Ave N as a destination on the Upper Riverfront, and exploring future projects with a commitment toward racial and cultural equity in our parks. In the coming months, the Center for Transformative Urban Design will take over as the local convener for the Reimagining the Civic Commons network and we look forward to collaborating with Paul and other partners throughout the Twin Cities as we collectively continue Reimagining the Civic Commons.
