A warm but breezy evening in the Longfellow Gardens was the place to be on Thursday, June 22. More than 150 parks supporters attended the first ever Sunset in the Parks, a pop-up picnic fundraiser. Groups of 2 to 20 organized their picnics and joined MPF board, staff and volunteers to toast the award winning park system. DJ SuperBrush provided a cool musical backdrop and a variety of lawn games provided some friendly competition (and amusement). By the end of the night, more than $10,000 was raised in support of the People for Parks Fund, thank you. By the sounds of it, there is a strong desire to do this again in 2024. We hope to see you there!
