Since 2003, The Minneapolis Parks Foundation has raised more than $22 million to invest in transformative parks in Minneapolis. Today, more than ever, visionary park lovers are making a difference by helping to restore greenspace throughout the city, and especially on our Mississippi Riverfront. Your gift makes a difference in how millions of residents and visitors experience Minneapolis.

General Operating Support

Major or multi-year gifts to our general operating fund allow us to identify new opportunities and work in collaboration with communities across Minneapolis to create transformative parks.

North Commons Campaign

The North Commons redesign project is expected to double the existing recreation center and water park to more than 50,000 sq. ft. With an estimated budget of $35-$50 million, it will be the largest monetary investment in a neighborhood park in the city’s history. Nearly $12 million in public funding has already been secured, with additional funding from the State of Minnesota being sought in 2023. The Minneapolis Parks Foundation is committed to help bring additional funds through philanthropy to this vision. We anticipate formally launching the capital campaign this once the community has had time to inform and approve the full vision.
